MORE INSPIRATION
KITCHEN, RESIDENTIAL & INterior design
Hi and welcome to More Inspiration.
Time to get the creative juices flowing for your summer projects. In spring we hosted a Commerce Nelson After 5 Event where we had the opportunity to explain the process of kitchen development.
Let our Nelson team take you through our residential kitchen design and interior design process.
First Meeting - Kitchen Layout, Design Concept
- We will meet you onsite or we can sit with your plans.
- Establish the layout of your kitchen and what will work best for you.
- We discuss the ambience and get a feel for the overall design concept.
- Talk budgets and timeframes.
- Look at pictures of kitchens and desirable features.
- Discuss appliances and other gadgetry.
- Start Designing working from plans or we measure up, and we develop the ideas from our first meeting.
- We look for ways to maximise efficiency and how to incorporate functional spaces into the desired style.
Second Meeting - Initial Kitchen Design
- We present you with the initial design and talk detail.
- SHOW 3D imagery and CV (what’s CV?).
- We discuss any changes that the client may want.
- We find out if the design meets your requirements.
- Move onto cabinetry finishes, bench-top finishes, products and hardware that will reflect the
overall feel of the design.
Third Meeting - Design confirmation and quote
- We will present the final quote.
- Separating components as much as possible.
- Following the final design confirmation there is a further meeting to dot the i’s and cross t’s making sure the detail is resolved.
- Colours and finishes are determined.
- Final measure up and a timeline is created.
- Manufacturing is started.
- You are welcome to come and view our workshop
- Further details can be discussed - so talk to us.
- Locally made is a huge asset – easy to talk to us • Come and take a sneak peek of your kitchen.
- The installation process follows and then …ENJOY !!
- Feedback and follow up to ensure you are 100% happy, and we send you our newsletter.
Interior Design
We approach each project via an in-depth process between the client and ourselves, producing an interior design which creates a whole new experience of the space.
"Building a rapport with the client is paramount to understanding what they feel will make the project successful"
Once we know that, we can transform the abstract into an eloquent interior design, realised through an international selection of materials, finishes and innovative products, meeting all client requirements and desires.
Hot Design Trends

Colour Me – relaxed
Warm neutral tones show continued growth and importance, a group that allows for subtle co-ordination in the creation of comfortable and relaxed-living environs. This covers the hues of soft cocoa browns, earthy greys and warm natural textures. New decors within this collection include:
- Peruvian Clay
- Oyster Linea
- Stringybark
- Fudge Stream
Green Design
From eco-materials to the return of the 70’s terrariums – the latest trends are about celebrating green and respecting the planet.
Recycling
Re using materials again and giving them a new life is a clever idea. This book screen is colourful and was made by a Melbourne based designer.
