Decorative features of this classic design include panelling on the back of the open shelving to show case collectables, effective tiling as a splashback behind the hob and glass fronted display cabinets at either side of the range hood. These factors combine to maintain a simple elegance to the room.

By following the natural line of the room the designer has made a mass of bench space available and has turned the stand alone island unit into and extension of the kitchen and entertaining areas by using the same materials and colours.
